Learning about current events through
interactive games & activities
To reinforce what’s taught in the current issue of News‑2‑You, head on over to Joey’s Locker! Students love to play the interactive games, travel to new destinations, and read about careers related to the week’s issue. Joey’s Locker is also great for remote learning—students just log in and find differentiated activities waiting for them.
travel the world!
It’s up to students to decide how they get to each destination (skiing? a motorcycle? a skateboard?), and they travel using chosen mode of transportation via a point‑of‑view video. Then they’re off, exploring different locations around the world that are closely connected to each week’s news topic.
tied to the week’s edition
Explore a career tied to the news topic, make real-world connections, and answer the “who” question! The Spotlight books are loaded with rich photographs and created with full symbol support from the popular SymbolStix PRIME database.
Play interactive, purposeful games
Six interactive games—including tic-tac-toe, word search, and a memory game—are provided every week for solidifying vocabulary and reinforcing the content presented in the weekly newspaper. All of the interactive games are compatible with most student devices, and can be accessed anywhere!
