Standards Based

n2y uses Instructional Targets to link academic content standards to SPED curriculum materials and activities. Instructional Targets are aligned to state educational and transition standards. Monthly lesson plans and materials address these critical skills in reading, writing, math, science and social studies with embedded transitional outcomes.

Six Grade Bands

Unique Learning System’s grade bands deliver age-respectful, engaging materials for all students. All materials are aligned to general education standards for all core subjects at each grade level. Activities include multiple means of presenting information including static visual representations onscreen, hearing text to speech as selected text reads aloud, and hands-on learning with experiments, written expression opportunities and more.

Differenciated Materials

Differentiated Materials

Unique Learning System’s differentiated materials provide a means of access to standards-based instruction for students with diverse needs. Given appropriate materials and adapted methods for instruction, all students participate in rigorous, daily classroom instruction. Each student’s academic profile in Unique Learning System generates his or her instructional support level. The Student View feature displays the correct leveled material for each student.

The support levels are:

Level 3: Students read text, produce simple writing, perform basic math processes, and demonstrate comprehension of modified learning information independently.

Level 2: Students may require symbol support and other direct instruction for learning and comprehension.

Level 1: Students require extensive and pervasive support. Increasing participation is the main objective.

Lesson Plans

Unique Learning System's curriculum for students with special needs includes convenient, interactive lesson plans for all six grade bands each month. Lesson plans and links are embedded in instructional materials for easy reference and use. Lesson plans include Instructional Targets for each themed activity, instructional routines, learning goal(s) and academic vocabulary. The Suggested Monthly Plan provides examples of how to sequence and pace the monthly lessons and activities.

  • The enhancements for my staff never stop. Thanks for continuous improvement that allows us to continuously improve.
  • I've been teaching for over 40 years. Not only is n2y the best company for materials, but it actually works! Not one or two, but ALL of my students have shown growth! And I don't mean a little bit, I mean SIGNIFICANT growth for EVERY student! I am amazed!
  • Our department had no idea that Unique Learning System included Sound Cards and other supports for therapy. The n2y Library has letter books and stories about any subject I need for my five buildings. Thanks for making my itinerant job a little easier n2y!
  • My daughter is a brain cancer survivor that has retained a 1st-grade reading level that has memory and processing issues. We both love and enjoy the Unique Learning System. She has science projects, as well as craft projects and learns at her pace with using repetitive lessons throughout the month. It has taken the pressure off her by homeschooling and has allowed us to enjoy homeschooling.....truly thank you.
